Dark Princess | Halloween Makeup & Outfit Tutorial 2013

Hello Everyone,

I went back and forth in my head with several elobarate Halloween makeup and outfit ideas but finally, I decided I wanted to do something easy and wearable. Something which doesn't require for you to go on a costume hunt. Something you can put together within a short period of time.

Something dark yet glamourous. Effortless yet breathtaking.
Like a dark princess.

I themed my costume around my favorite little black dress. I figured that most of you will already own a LBD anyways, so no need to hunt for costumes. This will be a great Halloween costume idea for all of you, who like me, would rather spend your money on those cute shoes you saw at Zara than on a costume you might never wear again.

Products Used:

These are products used on the eyes and lips only.

Face:
1. Bodyshop extra virgin minerals powder foundation
2. Revlon Photoready brightner
3. Highlighter from Revlon photoready sculpting palette

Eyes:
1. Maybelline gel liner - all over the lids as base.
2. Inglot freedom system eyeshadow in 391 - to set and blend the gel liner
3. Black crystal Bindhis in 2 different sizes. If you don't know what Bindhis are, its a kind of a sticker[which Selena Gomez wore on her forehead in her Come and Get it performance in MTV movie award]. For people outside India, if you cant find them around you, then buy them here. For people residing in India, I'm sure you would already know where to buy Bindhis, but if you don't, then you can find them in a bangle store near you.

Cheeks:
1. Inglot blush

Lips:
1. Revlon colorburst lip butter in red velvet.
2. Maybelline colorsensational lipstick in summer sunset -center of the lips.

Makeup:

1. Create black smokey eyes. I have already done a tutorial here on how to do a easy black smokey eye.

2. Apply a shimmery white eyeshadow/highlighter all around the eye like so. This is going to contrast with the black bindhis and make them stand out.

3.Stick black bindis around the lower lids of the eye, alternating between big and small to give the look dimension, stick them as shown below. If you don't like this design, then stick it in any other way you want, but keep the design around the eyes. Apply mascara, blush and bronzer before having fun with bindhis.

4. Apply a dark veltvet red lipstick all over the lips and then apply a bright red lipstick in the middle. Again, I am using 2 lipstick to give the look more dimension.

Hair, accessories and dress:

I have not styled my hair but have combed it straight and left it loose. I wanted to tie it in a high ponytail, but decided on straight loose hair half way though the photo session. You can do either, whichever suits you best. I have accessorised with diamond studs since they are classic and kind of adds to the look. For my outfit, I have worn my favorite LBD I own from like 3 years, this one's from FCUK. I also wore black shoes[which the camera cut out, because I was standing too close to the tripod].

I love Halloween [mainly because of all the old Disney movies]. I hope you try this look out while I go rewatch Caper for the 100th time.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial,
xoxo,
S
