Being a red lipstick lover, I can tell you that a red lipstick can change the way you look and feel. Its sexy packaged in a bullet – the kind of bullet which when used by a woman can be more dangerous than the actual bullet itself. And no one does a better job with red lipsticks than MAC. They know their reds and they know how a subtle change in tone makes a world of a difference to a color. And to add to it, their formula is long lasting, the packaging is sleek black[who doesn’t like black?], the lipsticks smell of innocent vanilla and they look good in my clutch. Its no wonder that once you buy a MAC there is no going back, you can be pronounced an addict at their doorstep.
These are my top 5 red MAC lipsticks and I know they will suit all skin tones:
Ummm, yeah I have mentioned this one quite a few times on my blog already. But this is my absolute favourite lipstick. Its a true classic red lipstick with blue undertones and has no orange in it. As a result, it will suit all skin tones beautifully. It perks up any dull day and has the ability to add that old movie glamour to any of your look. It is coveted by many movie starts on the Hollywood boulevard. This was my first red lipstick and the reason why I got hooked to reds in the first place. It has a retro matte formula.
2. MAC Russian Red:
This one is a deeper, darker version of Ruby Woo but is just as classic. This one too is a true red lipstick with blue undertones and will suit all skin tones. This one adds more mysterious glamour to your look and makes you feel like you are in a Mission Impossible movie. It has a matte formula. MAC’s Viva Glam 1 is said to be a dupe of it.
3. MAC Diva:
This is another classic, femme fatale red from the house of MAC. It is an intense burgundy color with purple undertones. Its dark and vampy and perfect for you if you are a rebel at heart. Wear it with caution as it can add lots of oomph to any outfit. It has a matte formula. MAC’s Rebel is said to be a dupe of this one.
This is a peppy red color with pink under tones. This color does an amazing job at brightening up your skin tone instantly. Its a very girly red and looks almost pink. If you want to forage into the world of reds slowly then this is a color to start with as it is not as red as the once mentioned above. It has a retro matte formula. MAC’s All Fired Up is said to be a dupe of this one.
5. MAC Lady Danger:
This is a fiery orange red. It has an orange undertone. Its brighter than all the other reds mentioned above and I personally feel that you require more guts to sport this. Its gorgeous and bold and brighter than fire. It has a matte formula.
Those are my top 5 creme de la cremes from MAC’s red army. As you may have noticed all of them have either matte or retro matte formula. That is because, I always find red works best with a super matter texture.
