So, we have all seen Kylie Jenner’s lip journey from very small to HUGE. Everyone’s been talking about them to an extent that she tweeted asking people to lay off her lips and that they were(are?) real. While I cannot comment on whether they are real or not[you can judge them yourself by googling her before and after pics], I can certainly comment on how much sexier it makes her look.
I think she has done a great job on her lips. She says she achieves it with a makeup technique which might not be true in her case. But, I think, most of us can use makeup to make our lips look slightly bigger. How? That’s what this post is about…
I recently stumbled upon these two products which do an incredible job at recreating Kylie’s lip.
The products I am speaking about are: Revlon colorstay lip liner pencil in maroons – buy here and revlon colorbrust matte lip balm in sultry[this is almost always out of stock online and offline].
The lip pencil maroons is a very brown-red, natural looking lip pencil and the lip balm sultry is a nudish, brown-pink everyday color that I am loving a lot these days[P.S – this was the lipstick I was secretly raving about in my revlon swatch post, full review soon!]
How I do it?
I use a technique called over drawing on my upper lips.
- First, I use the lip pencil and outline my lips. I draw slightly outside the cupids bow of my upper lips since I find that my upper lip is smaller than my lower one. I join the line to my natural shape towards the corners. I do not over draw my lower lips. You can customize over-drawing according to your lip shape
- I fill in my entire lips using the lip pencil
- Then I fill in my lips with Sultry
There are numerous videos out there demonstrating the same. There are some funny videos cropping up called “Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge” where teenagers suck on a shots glass for too long in an attempt to plump up their lips and in most cases bruising them. I do not recommend trying that but its kinda fun to watch those videos none the less[Guilty Pleasures].
