I recently forayed into the world of BB Creams. I know, I know, I am really late, since they have been around for almost 5 years now[or more?]. But, I was content with my Lotus Herbal Daily Multifuction Sunblock SPF 70[read review here]. It suited me perfectly and the fact that it had SPF 70, was tinted and promised a multitude of other benefits made it an unofficial BB Cream in my dictionary. But, all has not been well in my lotus world. You see, my skin and my favourite sunscreen have not been getting along very well for the past couple months. Maybe my skins texture changed or the company changed the formula, I don’t know, but the sunscreen just doesn’t blend seamlessly and it settles in my pores stubbornly and highlights my dry patches on every use. Well, all in all, it was time to change my daily sunscreen base to a smoother, easier one.
Being a multi-task product lover, BB Cream was the obvious choice. I really cannot bother applying moisturiser, sunscreen and a foundation base on a daily basis. I need something that will do the work of all 3. I chose Loreal because I have always loved their base products.
Loreal True Match Skin Idealizing BB Cream – Review, Price & Swatches in India:
My Skin Type: Oily, Combination, allergic to parabens
Availability: At all Loreal counters and online on Flipkart and Koovs.
Shades: There have 3 shades – G2 Gold, N1 Ivory and G1 Honey. I am in the shade G2 gold. I feel its a tad bit lighter than my skin tone but its the closest shade that matches me.
BB Claims of Loreal BB Cream: As we all know, a BB Cream is a multi purpose product that does the job of several products at once. It usually acts as a sunscreen, tinted moisturiser and promises several other benefits that change along with the product.
The Loreal True Match skin idealising BB Cream claims to contain hyaluronic acid which is an anti-ageing ingredient that makes the skin smoother and softer with every use. It also has an SPF of 35 PA+++. And obviously its a tinted moisturiser.
Texture: It has a runny texture with is perfect for blending. Its very easy to blend.
My Experience: This is my current everyday base and I like it reasonably. It gives a smooth porcelain finish when your skin is not dry. But on days when your skin is dry, it will highlight the dry patches and pores. Its very easy to blend out and that is what I like the most about this cream. It is hydrating. I have to set it with loose powder or it slips and slides. Once I set it with a powder, it stays on for 5-6 hours before it disappears into the skin. My skin does tend to get oily after 2 hours and I blot it with a tissue paper. When I blot, the cream does not transfer to the paper. It hasn’t broken my oily skin out. All in all, this is one of the good BB Creams available in India. Not the best, but as good as it gets here.
