We all crave simplicity in our lives. We all want to live a clutter free life no matter how much we like to horde. There is something mesmerizing about simplicity. When I look at people with a simple, sophisticated sense of style, I am immediately fascinated by them. There is something so Indian about them. Indian in the best way possible. They make Indian attires look trendy. They are different. When I come across some of these people, I sit back and observe. I want to know what drives them, what inspires their fashion sense. I want to talk to them about it but I never do, lest I come across intrusive. But I have always wondered where they shop their outfits from.

My questions were answered when I came across Plavate´. Plavate´ is a sophisticated take on the simple Indian wear. When it comes to fashion, my sense of it is anything but simple, but once in a while I carve simplicity in my outfits too. That’s where Plavate´comes in. When I first saw their clothing line, I was impressed by how gorgeously simple yet sophisticated their outfits were. The cuts neat, the texture clean. Gandhi would have approved of them.

Plavate´ in their own words:
In sanskrit, plavate´ means ‘flow’.
We believe, all of us are a small part
of the flow of nature.
That’s why, what we create, comes from the earth
and can go back to it.
Without disturbing ‘the flow’ of nature.

When I had to choose the outfits to style, I chose these two beautiful ensembles. The green skirt called ‘Here we go again linen skirt’ and the off-white crop top called ‘Cacoon eri silk top’ have a very organic feel to it. You can immediately see that its not your typical Indian wear but rather an inspired take on it- Its different. Its what you would reach for if you want to be taken seriously. The checked number with the off-white coat called the ‘Cotton candy white dress’ has a very different feel to it. Its not something you will find at your walk-in branded showrooms. Its designed specifically keeping certain audience in mind and that’s what makes it one of a kind.
