Black is my happy color. Whoever said black is boring, didn’t know what they were talking about. In an age when being edgy and overly colorful is a norm, a dark color like black can be a stand out. And whether it is a trend or not, any color that makes you feel special should be revered and black is my color. I mean, don’t we all possess black souls anyway?

For records, I own a furry cat and he sheds long hair everywhere. On my couch, on my bedsheets and worst of all, on my clothes. Owning numerous black outfits with a cat in the house can quite literally be a pain in the ass. But that doesn’t stop me from buying more black. I simply make sure to keep my wardrobe doors shut always, never put my dresses on my bed and always keep a couple of lint rollers handy – yeah the maintenance is real.

I firmly believe having one sexy black dress that fits you like a dream is ESSENTIAL(in all caps)! When you find yourself in a situation where you feel like you own nothing at all, as it happens quite often with me, you can always turn to your LBD, it can be a saviour in any situation. It is quite versatile too – You can dress it up or dress it down with your accessories or wear it simply as it is and still feel good about yourself.

Going to a party and have nothing to wear? Just pull out your black dress, accessorise it with gold jewellery and when you look like a dream in the mirror, you will forget the fact that you have already worn that dress like a million times. Going to a casual lunch and have nothing to wear? Well, just whip out your black dress that you love so much and pair it with a loose, floor length cape, the outfit will look brand new and nobody will ever know that this was the same dress you wore to the party last night. To drive the point home, I have styled my favourite black dress 3 ways and as you can see, it looks quite different each time.

Outfit Details:

Black dress – Zara

Black sequinned cape – Splash

Fringe crop top that I have used to layer the black dress – Splash

Sheer cape – Bangkok

Shoes – Zaful

Accessories – Forever 21

I hope you like this way of styling 3-1 outfits. Let me know your thoughts.

xoxo
